ACE3600 Remote Terminal Unit

Motorola ACE3600 remote terminal unit (RTU) is based on Power Quick II processor enabling fast processing time of a PLC with the superior communications of a remote terminal unit for an all-in-one high-performance combined scalable and expandable RTU or PLC supporting up to 110 I/O modules. ACE3600 is the first FULL SECURE RTU to hit the market on 2012 which was successfully tested in Idaho National Labs (INL, TSWG, US DHS). ACE3600 can be integrated seamlessly with multiple PLCs, RTUs and Intelligent Electronic Devices (IED) using OPEN and/or STANDARD industrial protocols. A powerful RTU processor with versatile input/output modules make this RTU to fit in most demanding SCADA environment and applications.

Motorola ACE3600 RTUs I/O module core is based on Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) which can be customized or upgraded locally or remotely. ACE3600 RTU can support up to 250 simultaneous native communication links over 8 communication ports. The communication modules are specifically designed to support secure communications links over diverse media and networks. The ACE3600 is fully compatible with the  legacy MOSCAD family. Morover MOSCAD application can be upgraded to run over new ACE3600 platform enabling expansion of MOSCAD, MOSCAD-L and MOSCAD-M based systems with new ACE3600 RTU.

SECURE REMOTE TERMINAL UNIT

Integrated comprehensive security and information assurance features were built-into the ACE3600 systems with no performance degradation ensuring RTU data integrity and communication security. ACE3600 includes Secured Access Control to control and monitor User access to all system parts. The Integrated security log, Security events Logs and Solicited security alerts are Stored securely into Encrypted data module.

End to end communication security integrity is achieved by full Key Encryption and management accompanied by built-in Integrated IP Firewall while suppressing vulnerable protocols. White listing of Run-file makes sure no threat is imposed on RTU or FEP applications while tampering run-time application is impossible without proper access rights. ACE3600 can be composed of Secured and Non-Secured RTUs. ACE3600 supports standard and open protocols such as MODBUS, DNP3.0 over Serial or IP, IEC 60870-5-101, IEC 60870-5-104, IEC61850 and other 3rd party protocols providing very limited security if at all comparing to ACE3600 native communication protocol.

SECURE PROGRAMMING

The ACE3600 open ladder and ‘C’ application platform enable to customize the HW to support all SCADA markets applications i.e. Smart-Grid, Oil & Gas and Water and wastewater management systems. Motorola STS SECURE programming suite allows seamless integration into existing MOSCAD, MOSCAD-L, MOSCAD-M and ACE1600 based systems. ACE3600 PLC combines interrupt driven API for high-speed local processing of up to 110 I/O modules over single centralized Central Processing unit (CPU).

ACE3600 SECURE HW and SW protect the applications from being tampered by unauthorized personal. All authenticated applications are white-listed and stored securely in the RTU. Upon malicious intrusion attempt locally or remotely the ACE3600 records the incidents and these attempts are reported back to the control center and/or other RTU in the system. All sensitive information is secured and encrypted while stored on a secured HW component. We do provide standard and customized ACE3600 training programs at different levels.
